The Maintenance and Engineering Manager is member of the local management team. The purpose of the role is to co-shape, develop and implement a successful site strategy. Based on the overall strategy the maintenance and engineering manager will ensure an effective translation into maintenance of the buildings and the machine park in a safe and efficient way.
Desired candidate must be able to and willing to travel internationally for several months for training. A valid US passport will be needed.
The Maintenance and Engineering Manager is responsible for:
As member of the local site management team this position is responsible to translate and implement the mission/vision and strategic plan for the company into year plans and targets for the site.
This is a hands on position and the desired candidate must be willing and able to work with his team out on the production floor
Lead the maintenance and engineering department while working side by side with them
Leading by example means the maintenance and engineering manager will be a role model of company values as set out in the mission and vision of the company
Continuously develop and optimise the assigned maintenance and engineering organization and people
Determinate plan of maintenance and planned inspections of machines, buildings and other equipment and ensure the realisation to reach performance standards
Pro-actively ensure all maintenance and engineering work on this site is done within safety and quality requirements and develop and maintain a risk conscious culture to manage risks
Register operating and technical documentation of the machines and equipment
Represent the company towards suppliers regarding engineering matters
Realize agreed year plans including the incorporated efficiency targets
Authorized to implement agreed year plan, implementation and enforcement of working procedures and safety instructions
Order spare parts or hire external companies to do maintenance within agreed budget
Stop production activities, related to technical or safety risks
Represent the company toward suppliers regarding engineering matters
Temporarily replace managers upon request
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar relevant experience.
Good communication, social and coaching skills
Knowledge of processing and filling equipment and automation of working processes
Knowledge of maintenance programs (TPM)
Open to learn the basics of specialized production and controlling fermentation process
Good verbal and writing skills in English
