Major/Essential Functions
Provides pediatric anesthesia patient care, clinical anesthesia, supervision of CRNAs and other trainees
Supervises residents, and participates in teaching activities for medical student and/or residents
Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties
Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission
Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's declarations of Faculty Professional Responsibility
Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso
Required Qualifications
MD or DO degree
Texas medical license or eligible for unrestricted Medical Licensure in the State of Texas
Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Anesthesiology
Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology or board certification in Pediatric Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Experience in teaching students and residents
Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher
