The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
The Department of Education is recruiting to fill a Management Analyst 2 position within the Division of Educator Effectiveness and Family Engagement. The position will be located in either Las Vegas or Carson City depending on the chosen candidate. The incumbent will oversee and monitor several fiscal programs administered by the Department to include the Teach Nevada Scholarship program, the Incentivizing Pathways to Teaching program, and the Nevada Institute on Teaching and Educator Preparation. The incumbent will establish funding application processes and timelines, perform regular fiscal reconciliations of assigned programs, ensure grantee compliance with program requirements, and conduct financial and statistical studies to inform future decision-making. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for gathering and presenting data from the Online Portal for Applications for Licensure (OPAL) system and respond to internal and external data requests. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment.
