JOB SUMMARY
The Commercial Construction Health and Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing health and safety protocols throughout the company, including on all job sites and in the office. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, fosters a culture of safety, and minimizes risk to protect the well-being of all employees, subcontractors, and site visitors. The manager will work closely with company leadership, project managers, and superintendents to develop and enforce effective safety policies and procedures. MUST HAVE COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and ensure safe equipment operating techniques.
- Plan, lead, and participate in job site safety meetings.
- Review and update site-specific safety plans with project teams on a monthly basis.
- Follow up with subcontractors to ensure proper disciplinary procedures are followed.
- Implement, inspect, and maintain job site and office safety manuals. Train employees in various safety procedures according to the construction safety management plan.
- Conduct periodic safety inspections on job site to ensure safety procedures are in place.
- Update and maintain the company’s contingency and recovery plan.
- Perform and oversee the investigation of accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions, including interfacing with workers’ compensation claims.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety and health program management and/or 10 years in the commercial construction industry.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Expert knowledge of OSHA regulations, local safety laws, and other regulatory agencies.
- Sound ethical judgment, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work independently.
- CPR/First Aid Certified
- Previous experience working on commercial or civil construction projects.
