We are preparing for a new addition to the Legacy Ventures portfolio. This one-of-a-kind property is nestled in the picturesque Tennessee River Valley within a two-hour drive north of Atlanta. It will represent tradition with authentically sourced cuisine, numerous outdoor activities and outstanding southern charm and hospitality. The Human Resources business partner will play a key role in strengthening the team, the culture, the connection to the community and supporting the necessary changes for improvement.
Summary: The Human Resources Manager (HRM) will work closely with the Resort Manager to drive a positive team member culture through recruitment, on-boarding, training and ongoing development, deliver positive team member relations and timely/accurately perform HR administration responsibilities. This person will have the ability to execute and maintain the HR functions in an organized and procedurally detailed fashion and operate in a manner that strategically aligns with Legacy Ventures’ ideology and beliefs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruiting and Hiring
- Coaches and supports management through a variety of HR related focus areas: recruitment, team member on-boarding, succession planning, professional development, performance management, etc. Execute Company-required pre-employment processes including:
- Reference checks
- Preparing and extending job offers for property-level non-exempt positions
- Pre-employment background / credit checks according to position requirements
- Pre-employment drug testing
- Provides support and guidance for all phases of work force planning including new hires, temporary staffing, transfers and exits. Engages in outreach and recruitment activities
- Develops a cost-effective recruitment plan utilizing resources such as, i-enroller, LinkedIn, social media, and other resources
- Creates and supports internship programs as appropriate, including J-1 visa students and those from local colleges or universities
Training
- Conducts thorough, timely on-boarding and orientation of all team members
- Creates and maintains team member training tracking through grid/spreadsheet document that meets Company and brand standards
- Maintains all training documents in organized binders
- Champions team member learning and development by coaching, mentoring and developing people for increased responsibilities, enhanced performance and career growth
Performance Management and Development
- Coordinates and executes company performance review process
- Supports and guides property leaders through coaching/counseling and discipline process
- Optimizes organizational results and individual effectiveness with clearly outlined expectations and measures
- Leads and motivates people by modeling interpersonal effectiveness, communication, trust, advocacy and political acumen
Team Member Relations
- Develops, supports and administers an effective team member relations program to include building a positive team member culture, a grievance process, coaching and counseling process and recognition programs that support organizational results
- Demonstrates behaviors that include fairness, respect, inclusiveness, empathy, integrity and ethical conduct
- Responds to and investigates any team member complaints and conflicts thoroughly, timely, confidentially and in collaboration with the General Manager and Corporate Director of Human Resources
- Fosters a work climate and culture in which each person is accepted and can grow and develop
- Ensures that all training programs are executed per Company and brand standards
- Ensures there are effective team member recognition and incentive programs in place and effectively managed.
- Cooperates by adapting to team needs and is flexible in resolving challenges
- Builds collaborative relationships across the organization with stakeholders for resources, information and decisions
Financial Management
- Processes bi-weekly payroll accurately, by the established deadline and according to Company standards and legal requirements
- Assists department managers in understanding effective and efficient deployment of team according to labor standards
- Properly uses checkbook / expense management in accordance with Company practices for HR-related expenses
- Ensures that property-level wage surveys are completed on a regular (minimum annually) basis in advance of budget timeline. Presents data effectively to Company leadership
Benefits Administration
- Oversees the enrollment, billing and auditing of the Company’s benefits plans for property-level staff. Works with plan administrators to ensure timely delivery of benefits enrollment options and information
- Responsible for communicating and maintaining benefits program information / records to ensure easy access to information for all team members, while controlling costs, through monthly auditing process
- Administers annual open enrollment and communications to property-level team regarding FAQ, deadlines, etc. with Plan Administrators and consultants
- Administers new team member enrollment and qualified events for existing team members.
- Administers and reconciles group insurance monthly billing options timely
Risk Management
- Manages timely reporting/follow-up to team member work-related injuries
- Ensures all documentation and tracking is in place as required by Legacy and OSHA
- First report of injury
- OSHA 300 Log
- OSHA 300A postings
- Ensures safety practices are introduced, documented and reinforced
- Models and promotes safe behaviors at work in accordance with Company, insurance and brand safety policies, procedures and guidelines
Other Areas
- Partners with Corporate Director of Human Resources as needed
- Be familiar with and adhere to Legacy Ventures Service standards as outlined in the Blueprint and other policies / rules of conduct, to include personal appearance / grooming, attendance and safe / efficient operations

Education and/or Experience: College degree preferred. The position requires three to five years related experience in Human Resources and one to three years of experience working in a dual reporting role with competing priorities required, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
