BASIC FUNCTION
The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the facilities are safe, well-maintained, and operational.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1) General Maintenance and Repairs
a) Perform routine inspections of the health center premises to identify maintenance needs and repair issues.
b) Conduct repairs and maintenance tasks, which may or may not include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems, to ensure a functional and safe environment.
c) Respond promptly to work orders and service requests from staff members or management to address maintenance issues effectively.
2) Facility Remodeling projects
a) Perform demolition, carpentry, painting, and other remodeling tasks as needed.
3) Safety and Security
a) Maintain a safe and secure environment by promptly addressing potential hazards, such as broken doors, malfunctioning locks, or loose handrails.
b) Conduct routine checks of fire safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and smoke detectors, and promptly report any deficiencies for necessary action.
4) Documentation and Record-Keeping
a) Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
b) Document inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, and promptly notify the appropriate personnel when reordering is required.
5) Collaboration and Communication
a) Coordinate with other staff members and departments to ensure efficient workflow and effective communication regarding maintenance-related issues.
b) Provide guidance and support to colleagues regarding maintenance best practices and safety protocols.
6) Compliance with Regulations and Standards
a) Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and standards applicable to maintenance operations within the health center.

7) Performs other duties as assigned
a) Effectively carries out tasks and responsibilities beyond core job duties and primary role. The additional duties may vary from time to time and encompass a wide range of activities that contribute to the overall success of the organization (floating, assisting co-workers, patients, visitors, customers, leaders, and other stakeholders in support of the organization).
