Job Purpose
The Final Inspector will ensure all end products conform to contractual and regulatory requirements. Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with final product both visual and chemical analysis.
- Knows how to use micrometers, calipers, Pi tapes and Snap gages.
- Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining the final inspection.
- Confirmation that real weight agrees expected weight.
- Check that all WMS machinery is properly serviced before starting up.
- Assists in repair and replacement of WMS equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
- The employee is responsible for assisting with documentation and/or technical devices for recording production and findings.
- WMS equipment calibration
- Communicating with Supervisor about any problems with material and equipment.
- Assist in Housekeeping, and Quality.
- Assist in the training of plant personnel.
- Inspect final product.
- Employee must report to his immediate supervisor for briefing on daily tasks.
- Employees must maintain good housekeeping ethics. Work areas must be free and clear of debris.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Competencies
o High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
o 1 years’ experience in quality control or a 2-year college degree in the technology field.
o At least Knowledge and experience within the OCTG pipe industry is preferable.
o Reading and writing of English as well as solid arithmetic and Computer skills.
o Ability to organize vast amounts of data and multi-task several priorities with excellent time management.
o Capable of working MS Office suite, especially Excel, and the ability to grasp an ERP System.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o The visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.
o Employees must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require overtime when needed.
o Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site.
- The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
- The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
- Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
Direct Reports / Authorities
- This position has the authority to stop an operation if he/she deems it necessary, for reasons of safety, and possible equipment damage. However, he/she must notify the Mill Supervisor on duty and follow the established notification procedure if the interruption is for an extended time period.
