Job Title: Receptionist
Department: Allegro Medical Clinic
Location: Columbus, MS
FLSA: Non Exempt/Hourly
Job Summary:
The receptionist is responsible for welcoming patients and visitors and assisting patients, staff or physicians with their needs.
Principal Duties:
- Welcoming patients/visitors in person or on the telephone.
- Optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization.
- Collection and input of insurance information into the computer for patient visit.
- Collection of patient co-pays before the physician visit.
- Answer or refer patient/visitor inquiries.
- Schedule appointments in person or on the telephone.
- Cleaning of work area and/or clinic as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the management.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Familiarity with computer and relevant software applications.
- Awareness of general administrative and clerical procedures.
- Highly effective communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.Experience:Two years of experience within a medical setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis. Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
