At HSS we are looking for a Pastry Prep Cook to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu in Kissimmee, FL area.
A Pastry, bakes various desserts in a kitchen within a restaurant or bakery. Their main duties include following recipes to create pastries, cookies, and other baked goods, developing new and unique recipes to feature on the menu, and keeping stock of the kitchen’s inventory.
Responsibilities
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. create pastries, cookies, and other baked goods)
- Prep Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the bakery staff
- Answer, report and follow executive or chef’s instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Skills
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a prep cook, pastry cook.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Culinary school diploma prefered.
Some requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- Serv Safe Certification required.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Should have at least 1 year of Pastry Prep Cook experience.
- Willing to work on weekends and holidays.
- Willing to do heavy lifting 50+ pound.
- Must be willing to go under drug screening and background check.
