SUMMARY
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for the overall supply chain management. The Supervisor’s responsibilities also include organizing and monitoring the storage and distribution of goods, distribution, and receiving of raw materials, packaging materials, and the shipping of finished goods. The purpose of this role is to plan, direct, and oversee all warehouse business concerns including, but not limited to, Inbound and outbound shipments, equipment maintenance and repair, transportation, personnel and budget management, cost, and operating efficiencies control. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS The position reports directly to the Director of S&R and provides supervision to Warehouse employees. Works with the production, procurement, logistics, and quality team on all food safety protocols, food safety, and compliance issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job, an individual must be able to perform and coordinate the workflow for the following:
- Effectively communicates company, plant, and department priorities across all levels
- Communicates any issues during shift, across all levels, as appropriate (e g , production orders, safety hazards, etc)
- Enforces company, plant and departmental policies and procedures and work instructions including but not limited to safety policies, GMPs, HACCP standards, and AIB standards
- Trains, counsels, monitor work, assign work, disciplines employees
- Orients new employees and trains on department-related activities
- Provides feedback at regular intervals to team members & conducts performance evaluations of assigned team members.
- Identifies training and developmental needs necessary and conducts required training for assigned employee group.
- Appropriately handles employee concerns and complaints
- Conducts pre-shift and shift-change meetings with appropriate team members to communicate issues, concerns and information.
- Performs walkthroughs of production and warehouse areas with leads, focusing on equipment performance, product quality, housekeeping, safety, and foods safety
- Schedules team to meet production goals, including approving and scheduling team member vacations
- Maintains schedules, timecards and prepares all HR-related paperwork
- Maintains teamwork, consistency, and fairness among all employees to foster a positive work environment within the department, plant, and entire organization
- Ensures all food safety principles, legal requirements, and operational processes have been applied effectively to include education, knowledge, awareness, and application
- Report any food safety and quality issues/problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
- Participates in warehouse continuous improvement initiatives. Be alert to better, more cost effective and efficient ways of running the warehouse operation
- Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers' expectations • Be responsible for output, ensuring product quality and on-time shipping
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic, planning, and resource allocation
- Build a trusting relationship with work force; supervise and develop warehouse employees
- Collect and analyze data to find redundancy, waste, and overtime issues • Commit to plant safety procedures
- Address employees' issues or concerns
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise • Stay current with latest warehouse management best practices and concepts
- Must adhere to safety procedures and operations
- Must be able to troubleshoot warehouse issues and write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Collaborate effectively with Human Resources to ensure recruiting and staffing needs are met. Oversee job changes and promotions for internal candidates
- Deep knowledge of industry and processes
- Actively participate and implement the root cause assessment during daily incident report investigations, deviations of procedure, customer complaints, or any other noncompliance to finished goods, specification of raw material, or others
- Other duties may be assigned and subject to change following business needs

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
