Job Objective:
To safely and efficiently manufacture corn and flour tortillas for retail, restaurant and wholesale.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Work in a team to maintain operation in the production line
- Operate production machinery
- Operate equipment such as forklift trucks to fulfill orders
- Mix ingredients for product
- Feed unfinished product into processing machinery
- Label bags with expiration date and shift code
- Sort tortillas from the conveyor belt
- Checks product quality to ensure quality standards
- Organize the product as to be able to package it
- Package product into bags ensuring the correct count
- Place package product into cases
- Stack and organize cases of product onto pallets
- Load and unload product
- Maintain work area clean and organized
- Ensure proper safety and food handling procedures are being used
- Ensure proper sanitation practices
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Meet production deadlines
- Report any production issues to production supervisor
- Report unsafe hazards to production supervisor
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be bilingual – English/Spanish
- Must have good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work on foot for extended periods of time
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to frequently, lift, push, pull, twist, reach, crouch, kneel, and squat
- Capable of lifting 30- 40lbs. unassisted
- Must have an open schedule (open to any shift; weekends; and holidays)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
