Medical Office Patient Services Representative – Patient Registration, Incoming Patient Calls, and Insurance Pre-authorization
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manchester Urology Associates (MUA) at Nashua is a privately owned medical practice seeking an out-going, full-time, Patient Accounts Representative for their Nashua, New Hampshire office. This position is responsible for various aspects of patient registration, patient appointment scheduling, patient check in and check out, telephone customer service, and insurance pre-authorization processing. This position ensures superior customer service in answering in-coming telephone calls, registering patients with accurate information, and works to secure in a timely manner insurance pre-authorization. Prior office experience is not required. MUA is looking for a dedicated employee that wants to grow their career.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Registers patients in the Epic system and verifies the patient’s information to ensure accurate information.
Responsible for incoming calls to the MUA to address all patient questions and/or schedule patients for appointments including procedures and radiology.
Provides superior in-person and telephone etiquette to all patients and visitors.
Ensures pre-authorizations are completed in a timely manner. Utilizes resources available through the Epic system.
Assists in pre-registration activities to ensure the correct Primary Care Providers and insurance authorizations are in place prior to the patient’s appointments.
Assists with urgent processing of patient’s pre-authorization for radiology and other medical procedures.
Ability to function in high volume patient flow
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Ability to communicate professionally with all patients, Providers, and staff focusing on outstanding customer service. Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task, environment. Able to be a team player. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Knowledge of HIPAA Confidentiality Policies and Procedures.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Experience: One-year Epic experience in a medical office with in-coming calls, patient registration, and insurance pre-authorization preferred but not required.
