RGB Hospitality is seeking a dedicated and friendly Senior Sales Manager to join our team at the newly opened Fairfield By Marriott Downtown Austin. With 130 guest rooms spread across 17 floors, a rooftop multipurpose room with a terrace, a vibrant downstairs bar, a luxurious presidential suite, and 9 unique room types, our hotel offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic hospitality environment.
Description:
As the Senior Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and fostering business through proactive direct sales, marketing, telemarketing, direct mail, appointment calls, and tours of the hotel. You will also develop strategic action plans for the hotel to drive measurable, incremental sales revenue. Working closely with the General Manager, you will ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the hotel.
You will identify areas of opportunity in performance and recommend tools and sales training to optimize the performance of the sales team. Additionally, you will work with individual hotel teams to identify skill development areas and properly deploy sales and marketing resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Understand the hotel's business strategies, set goals, and determine action plans to meet those goals.
- Action Plans: Update action plans and financial objectives quarterly.
- Market Expansion: Identify new markets and business opportunities to increase sales.
- Representation: Represent the hotel at various events and exhibitions.
- Sales Action Plans: Implement all sales action plans related to market areas as outlined in the marketing plan.
- Customer Service: Provide quick and timely responses, immediate communication to properties, and develop professional long-term business relationships.
- Operational Support: Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondence).
- Service Excellence: Support the hotel's service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
- Rate Negotiations: Work closely with the Revenue Manager to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the hotel.
- Team Collaboration: Develop strong relationships with the on-property front office team to ensure working in unity and always striving to achieve the same goals.
- Meetings: Attend all department and hotel meetings as necessary.
- Account Targeting: Target key accounts potential for the company.
- Relationship Building: Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, trade shows, etc.
- Community Engagement: Develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base for sales opportunities.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- New Business Acquisition: Acquire and develop new business accounts and prepare sales proposals for clients.
- Lead Follow-Up: Closely follow up on all business leads within a 24-hour response timeline to clients.
- Target Sales: Target all hotel sales: rooms, banquet events, conferences, colleges/universities, military. Hospitality to service all events and arenas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Hotel Sales experience highly preferred
- Bilingual preferred
- Reliable transportation a must
- Valid state driver's license and insurance a must
- Polished personal presentation with a warm, confident, and hospitable personality a must
- Proven success in a similar role and environment highly preferred
