Description:
Position Overview: This position is responsible for maintaining track infrastructure, including but not limited to inspection and repair of track, construction, and maintenance of supporting track infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains and improves the condition of tracks, track bed and subgrade, and the track right-of-way which includes crosstie or timber removal and insertion, tamping, removing and tightening bolts, gauging, operation of railroad MOW vehicles, and various other track department related duties

Maintains positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors and/or customers

Performs various physical duties which includes working with dust, dirt, gravel, fumes, exhaust, various noise levels, chemicals, in confined spaces, and in various, sometimes extreme, outdoor weather conditions and temperatures

Assists with snow removal duties (Seasonally)

Qualifications:
Required

18 years of age or older

Valid driver's license

Attention to detail

Situation awareness in a construction environment

Ability to read and understand safety labels and operating instructions

Ability to follow directions without direct supervision
Preferred

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Experience working in a construction setting

Experience operating heavy equipment

Experience working outdoors in variable weather conditions
