We are looking for a full-time teacher to join our growing preschool. We have positions available starting in June, July, and August. Chai Preschool is a model preschool in San Mateo that is Reggio-inspired, offers a high-quality child-centered program, and follows developmentally appropriate practices. We offer programs for 2, 3, and 4-year-old children.
Our teachers work in collaborative teams to plan engaging and unique learning experiences. We promote an environment where children can develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills for a successful and meaningful life. We are excited to welcome new team members to our school.
Teacher Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain and implement procedures to ensure the health and safety of the children
- Establish and maintain positive, professional, and effective communication and supportive ties with children, staff, and parents, to meet the individual needs of children and their families, which establishes a partnership between school and home for the child
- Interactions with children should reflect respect and compassion
- Understand, and articulate the philosophy of the school
- Communicate clearly and appropriately with fellow staff members, School Director, and Assistant Director
- Maintain professional standards and conduct and a positive work ethic
- Respect the confidentiality of school-related information
- Plan the emergent curriculum with co-teachers according to the philosophy of the school
- Document each child's learning experiences and developmental growth using individualized binders
- Attend all staff meetings and professional development opportunities
- Assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff
- Intentional, ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and appropriate classroom and play yard learning environment
Desired Qualifications:
- 6 months of experience or more with Children/Early Child Development
- Age Groups: Toddler, Preschool
- High school diploma
- CPR Training, Early Childhood Education (ECE), Early Child Development Coursework 12 ECE Units or equivalent. Proof that you have some and are working towards getting them is also acceptable. (Candidates are not required to be familiar with Jewish practices.)
