Title: Payroll/HR Specialist
Location: Fenton, MO
Job Summary: A key member of the accounting staff reporting directly to the Controller. Major focus of responsibilities will be in the payroll/HR area, however there will be other accounting functions as well.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process weekly union payroll (approximately 180+ employees) and salary employee payroll including the submission of the direct deposit to bank for distribution to employees, printing of live checks and distributing them.
- Review weekly timesheets to detect and reconcile discrepancies. This includes some paper timecard entry
- Prepare and process all payroll deductions, taxes and fringe benefits
- Compile all Quarterly and Year End Tax Reports (ie: 941, W-2’s, ACA 1095-C) for the Controller
- Reconciling payroll reports to the general ledger
- Knowledge of prevailing wage payroll
- Complete certified payroll on a weekly basis
- Ensuring compliances for each job site is fulfilled
- Assist with union audits
- Set up and maintain all personnel files
- Prepare and update New Hire packages
- Conduct new employee orientation and complete documentation
- Responsible for all HR inquires (ie: employment verifications, garnishments)
- Manage workflow to ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Manage all orders compensation claims, send incident reports to the state, and work with injured employees and the insurance company
- Must routinely meet tight deadlines
- Assist employees with payroll, benefits and HR issues
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills:
- BS, BA or related years of experience
- 2+ Years of experience working within the construction industry
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office
- Experience using Construction or Payroll Software Programs (Vista Viewpoint Preferred)
- Ability to process and manage payroll in a confidential manner
- Knowledge of with Multi-State Payroll
- Knowledge of Union Payroll
- Knowledge of Prevailing Wage Law and Certified Payroll Reporting preferred
- Must be detail oriented
- Must be able to work under tight deadlines
- Excellent organization skills, time management and prioritization abilities
- Strong Interpersonal Skills is critical
