Primary Purpose:
Secondary Purpose:
Plan and deliver STEM lessons to all students in kindergarten through 5th grade which enrich and enhance the grade level curriculum. Design and implement hands-on activities, experiments, and projects that promote inquiry-based learning and problem-solving skills, promoting innovation through project-based learning and real-world applications of STEM concepts.
Qualifications/Skills:
Education/Certification:-
Bachelor's degree in related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or Teaching Certificate from out of state appropriate for position preferred.
- Certification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position in a manner required by Federal and/or State law.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of STEM concepts and their applications in real-world contexts.
- Current in trends and best practices in STEM Education.
- Proficient use of technology, including Google Suite.
Experience:
- Five (5) years experience teaching in primary and intermediate grades, preferred.
- Experience in planning and implementing enriching activities that enhance the curriculum.
- Experience in STEM disciplines and a commitment to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in students.
Major Duties and
Responsibilities:
Instruction:-
Adhere to the district’s philosophy of instruction.
- Develop and implement plans for instruction for students in kindergarten through 5th grade that enrich the required curriculum and show written evidence of preparation as required.
- Conduct assessment of students’ learning strengths and interests and use results to plan challenging instructional lessons
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate STEM concepts into other subject areas and reinforce interdisciplinary connections.
- Present challenging, enriching lessons/activities for the subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies and administrative regulations.
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
Student Growth and Development:
- Help students analyze and improve work habits to persist when the task is difficult.
- Help students set and monitor personal learning goals to challenge their learning.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
- Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school district.
Student Behavior Management and Organization:
- Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
- Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Compile, maintain, and file all digital and physical reports, records and other documents required.
Communication:
- Build relationships, establish trust and credibility with colleagues, students, parents and community members to effectively support students and their teachers.
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Meet monthly with grade level PLCs for planning and selecting instructional activities that support academic standards of each grade level.
Other:
- Participate in and provide professional learning for teachers.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Computer, ACTIV Board, mobile devices, copy machine and audio visual machines.

Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Work with frequent interruptions.
- This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.
