We are a residential homebuilder looking for a highly skilled craftsman with an impeccable eye for detail. This is not a position that many are going to qualify for. We are looking for someone who is the best at what they do, has 10-plus years of experience doing it, and has that “touch”. If you’re unsure what we mean by “has that touch”, this likely isn’t the position for you.
Please do not apply unless you are extremely confident in your experience and ability to handle any project, any task, or any tool that would be necessary in the normal course of semi-custom home construction and knock it out of the park. Your previous experiences and past work will be discussed during interviews. We assume over the years you have collected photos of your past work. We'd love to see what you are capable of.
Please do not apply if you do not have 10-plus years of experience
About you:
- You will not be mentored. You are already at the top of the game and may find yourself mentoring others.
- You can take any detailed drawing and figure out how to build it.
- You can work with no supervision. You’re confident in your skills, have excellent time management skills, and are a self-starter.
- You are completely construction literate. You’ve seen it all at this point in your career and can take any challenge in front of you and run it across the goal line.
- You are your friends and family’s MacGyver. Whether they need something repaired, or they want to make an upgrade, you’re the first person your family thinks of to ask to help do the work.
- You are confident in your ability to read blueprints and schematics. You can be given drawings and materials and build what was designed.
- You are proficient and safe with tools. You haven’t come across a hand tool, power tool, saw, or other woodworking tool in a long while you weren’t familiar with using safely.
- You have a strong emphasis on quality and meticulous attention to detail - nothing gets past you!
- You can work on a team, and completely by yourself. You’d be joining a team that has a range of guys just starting their careers to other exceptionally skilled and experienced craftsmen.
- You communicate well and find yourself able to get along with people.
- You have a sense of humor. We work hard, we have high expectations, but we also enjoy who we work with, and what we do, and a sense of humor is part of that.
About us:
We are a residential homebuilder based in the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas. We also build in the Boise area. A majority of the working day will be in the Tri-Cities or Prosser areas, but occasionally we may send you down to Boise for a day or two of work. The job is full-time, and a typical workweek is 40-50 hours. Even in the wintertime, we keep you busy. We supply you with all the power tools you need (except your hand tools). You provide a good attitude and punctuality.
We build semi-custom homes. Some homes are simple. Other homes are 7-figures with intricate, detailed custom details.
Tasks you might do:
- We’ve already mentioned you’ll be building custom millwork details from plans/drawings
- Build and install various types of stair and deck railings (vary from wood to metal cable)
- Build, install, and/or modify cabinets. You have an eye for making fine adjustments to cabinets and doors/drawers so every functions just perfectly.
- Some framing/re-framing of custom details.
- Install full millwork packages. Includes everything from base, case, headers, fully wrapped windows, shiplap, mantles, shelves, closets, ceiling beams and trays, and more.
- Install built-in appliances and adjust them to fit the cabinets
- Install and adjust custom entry doors and windows
- Design, build, and install hidden door features with electronic push buttons and electromagnets
- Install low-voltage LED lighting at toe kicks, under cabinets, under shelves, ceiling trays, and more.
- Comfortable with all types of flooring installation and tile work. This won’t be your primary job duties but we may need your expertise to install, modify, or repair flooring or tile work.
- Anything else that might come up that needs your expert touch.
