The Procurement Specialist II is a mid-level job responsible for performing routine and non-routine complex duties related to procuring all materials and services for a business unit. This role assists the Sr. Procurement Specialist in researching and identifying prospective suppliers; assists in evaluating complex supplier offerings against key business criteria; assists in negotiating purchase agreements; assists in solving issues as they arise; however, escalates more sensitive issues. This role may also be responsible for training and mentoring level I. Must live in Dallas, Texas.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Understanding Industrial Procurement Processes.

Receives, reviews, and processes routine and non-routine requisitions and purchase orders for materials, equipment and services ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.

Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.

Responsible for the interaction between the company and supply base.

Prepare routine and non-routine proposals (RFQ’s), requesting quotes, negotiating purchase terms and conditions, price, and delivery schedule.

Collaborates with internal and external project teams and maintains strong supplier relations.

Prepares routine and non-routine complex reports; maintains accurate inventory and procurement records; maintains database regarding vendors performance and quality of product(s).

Analyze quotes and making recommendations for award.

Confirms with suppliers that terms and delivery dates are accurate; makes corrections and adjustments and tracks orders to ensure timely delivery.

Maintain and input necessary data/records in the company purchasing system.

Validates, reconciles and processes receiving reports, vendor invoices, and other payment documents.

Document report requirements, commodity performance metrics and vendor scorecards. Maintain & create procurement documents to ensure the production team is informed of material constraints and risks.

Researches and identifies prospective suppliers and evaluates products and suppliers according to key business criteria.

Collaborate with Operations to establish strategic direction and objectives. Supplier qualification, creation of evaluation and re-evaluation processes, and creating dual sourcing strategies when necessary.

Identify cost reduction opportunities and report on annualized savings.

Ability to travel as needed.
Education & Minimum Requirements:
-
Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study preferred by not required; relevant experience may be substituted for education.

3-5 years of relevant, progressive experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Effective communication skills.

Strong ethics.
-
Flexible to changes in the organization companywide.
