Essential Responsibilities
Machine Setup:
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to understand the required specifications.
- Select and install the appropriate tooling and dies on the press brake machine.
- Program the machine's controls to achieve the desired bend angles and dimensions.
Material Handling:
- Load and unload metal sheets or plates onto the press brake machine.
- Ensure that materials are properly aligned and secured in the machine for accurate bending.
Operation:
- Operate the press brake machine to bend, shape, and form metal according to specified requirements.
- Monitor machine operation to detect any deviations or issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Quality Control:
- Perform regular quality checks on produced parts to verify conformance to specifications.
- Identify and rectify any defects or inconsistencies in the finished products.
Maintenance:
- Conduct routine maintenance on the press brake machine to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and address any mechanical or operational issues as they arise.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production data, and quality control checks.
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation associated with each job.
Communication:
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth production processes.
- Communicate any issues or concerns related to machine operation or product quality.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting technical specifications.
- Familiarity with press brake machine setup, tooling selection, and programming.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and handle heavy materials.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of materials and their bending characteristics.
