Summary: Early childhood program in Manhattan (UES) serving children aged 3 to 5 years in self-contained and Integrated classes is seeking an OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST.

ABC is seeking a full-time OT to support its CPSE multi-disciplinary evaluation (MDE) program. The OT will conduct evaluations of visual, fine, and sensory-motor skills and adaptive functioning in children ages 3-5 years old as part of the CPSE MDE process. Evaluations will take place at two of ABC’s Early Childhood sites: The Graham School (1841 Park Avenue) and Cassidy’s Place (419 E 86 Street).
Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist Evaluator include:
- Work individually with preschool children to help master OT goals mandated on student’s IEP.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to assist, plan and implement strategies in the classroom that correlate to fine motor/sensory skills
- Maintain daily session notes, attendance records, quarterly progress reports
Qualifications:
- NYS licensed Occupational Therapist
- Experience with 3-5 years old population
- Knowledge of EasyTrac (preferred, not required)
- Current NYC DOE employees are not eligible
- No COTAs
For evaluators:
- Proficient in the use of the PDMS-3, a sensory profile, and/or other approved assessment tools (most recent versions)
- Submission of sample evaluations (minimum 2)
