GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary accountability for the Barista is to create a highly valued personalized member experience in our lobby Café called 1930. The Barista responsibilities may include but are not limited to: professionally and cheerfully welcoming and interacting with members and guests utilizing the Lobby Library, maintaining a safe, clean, orderly and well-inventoried environment and following proper procedures when addressing member needs. It is the responsibility of the Barista to stay informed of department changes and WAC activities such that they can answer members questions in a timely, informed fashion, and, as much as possible, anticipate member needs by providing effective day to day problem solving.
The active role of the Barista is customer service to members, guests & employees in our Café. This will include, but not limited to, taking, preparing and serving a variety of coffee, beer & wine drink orders as well as acting as the cashier for payment on all purchases from 1930. This may include other beverages, food items and gifts sold in 1930.
When not acting as a barista or cashier, duties will include restocking efforts for supplies, food & beverage items and other products in 1930 as available.
Also, this position will be responsible for general cleaning and housekeeping duties within 1930.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with Supervisor and other Team Members to model WAC values and contribute to the WAC's mission, vision and values.
- Utilizes a high level of personalized customer service, responsible for greeting, answering phones and answering questions in a timely, informed and friendly manner.
- Cashier for all items sold in 1930
- Correct cash counting and handling
- Restock all supply and retail items as available
- Clean and maintain work area and general housekeeping of the store
- Maintain safe and orderly retail area environment
- Maintain high standards of uniform, personal appearance, and grooming
- Meet and follow all opening duties relative to shift worked
- Meet and follow all closing duties relative to shift worked
- Participates in department meetings and works with other Team Members to improve services.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- A high ability to communicate effectively with members and team members both in person and on the phone.
- Retail or hospitality experience highly desired
- Must have or be able to obtain a Server’s Permit for alcohol sales
- Computer and POS skills proficiency
