Title: Medical Receptionist St. Petersburg, Florida
Supervisor: Dermatologist
We are searching for an energetic receptionist to add to our team devoted to providing superior Dermatology care to our community. The receptionist will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner. Principle Duties: The Receptionist is a critical role in patient service, office administrations, insurance management, and patient scheduling. This role includes:
Scheduling patient appointments, collecting insurance information, and adding them to our medical record system
Checking-in and interviewing patients, collecting chief complaint, vital signs and history
Charting and scribing the patient encounter in the patient’s electronic medical record
Completing administrative tasks for health insurance verification, prior authorizations, update and file medical records and insurance reports.
Administrative duties such as fielding phone calls, informing patients of their lab or pathology results, taking patient payments
Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must have: (i) a high school diploma or equivalent degree; (ii) ability to interact and communicate well as a team and with others, in person or by telephone, including occasional difficult or frustrated customers or patients, (iii) ability to report to work with consistent attendance, prepared to work well in a fast-paced environment of a dermatology clinic. (iv) have attention to detail in their actions with the goal to provide the best patient care possible
(v) Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work (vii) Social perceptiveness and service oriented (vii) Excellent written and verbal communication skills (viii) Strong organizing and planning skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in computer and phone use
Experience with electronic medical programs.
A great team member
A great teacher - being able to teach patients as well as other team members.

Clinical Medical Assistants may be exposed to this occasionally but our practice strives to create a safe and enjoyable workplace. Occasional exposure to certain hazardous chemicals and biological specimens is also expected, however the practice maintains strict protocols, employee training, and limits exposure to these agents in every way possible.
