The open Buyer/Expeditor position will assist to ensure 100% quality in the delivery of products and/or services while meeting customer requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and process Requests for Quotes (RFQs)
- Purchase products and/or services which meet customer requirements
- Place Purchase Orders (POs) within established time frames
- Review orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications
- Ensure customer requirements and Terms and Conditions are flowed down and accepted by suppliers; for orders associated with government contracts, flow down any applicable regulatory requirements which may include a DPAS rating, DFARs, and/or FARs
- Discern quality requirements on POs and relay to suppliers to ensure compliance
- Source and research alternate quotes from approved suppliers, as required
- Negotiate terms, lead time, pricing, discounts, and/or additional charges
- Track the status of requisitions and orders and expedite as needed
- Facilitate supplier correction of any nonconforming product or service
- Follow customer and team established processes
- Ensure 100% quality and on time delivery
- Work with team members to maintain lean processes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- ERP software experience a plus (i.e. Sage, SAP, Oracle)
- Outlook/Email - high volume email inbox management; prioritization and follow-up
- Internet (research, search engines, online ordering, online billing, customer portals)
- Supply chain management, procurement, and/or expediting background preferred
- Business Math Skills – calculate pricing, freight, tax, quotes, purchase orders, and sales orders
- Written and verbal communication skills – effective and professional with customers, suppliers, and team
- Negotiation Skills
- Detail Oriented /Accuracy – maintain accurate records via system and related documentation
- Customer Service - maintain positive relationships with external customers and suppliers
- Organization, Adaptability and Multitasking Skills
- Ability to work in multiple computer systems and sitting at workstation for entire day
