Job Summary
The Payment Processing Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of up to eight staff responsible for processing cash, check, and money order payments. This team processes 3,500+ payments per day for seven public sector clients, and these payments must be applied and deposited the same day with zero defects. The Supervisor will serve as point of contact for any employee concerns and will assist with team duties as necessary to ensure compliance with service level agreements.
Core Responsibilities
- Audit final batch images of deposit items and work with the controls department to address any banking anomalies; provide feedback to improve performance
- Ensure established KPIs are met daily, and oversee compliance in procedure regarding OCR scanning, payments, notices, balancing, and data entry
- Prioritize and plan daily team activities efficiently to ensure compliance with service level agreements; review and/or finalize completion of weekly staff assignment schedules
- Organize and maintain document retention closet, rotating files and shredding contents according to established procedures
- Step in to support payment processing due to team member absence
- Perform all other duties as assigned
What you Bring to the Role
Education
Knowledge
- 3+ years’ experience as team lead or supervisor in a banking capacity (or similar environment), with responsibilities related to banking procedures and audit standards
- Experience processing high-volume online, cash, check, and/or mail order payments; understanding of balancing procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to self-motivate and proactively address concerns impacting team performance; may work under critical deadlines while subject to heavy workload
- Demonstrated dependability and punctuality is crucial to success in this role
- Ability to follow instruction, implement management direction, and solicit feedback to improve performance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OCR scanning
- Experience with payment processing equipment
- Proficiency in Cantonese a plus
Work Environment
We are a hybrid-remote workplace combining in-office and remote work to varying degrees based on role requirements and employee location. This position may involve occasional travel up to 0%.
This position is designated as full-time on-premises. The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time but is also subject to frequent standing or moving throughout the facility. May be subject to Occasional reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling or crouching.
The hours for this position are Monday – Friday, starting at 7 AM. An earlier start (e.g., 6 AM) may be required periodically due to the department manager's absence because of illness or vacation.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
