GENERAL OVERVIEW OF KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct service and case management to children and/or adolescents in Educational Services programs. Ensures clients are safe, healthy, and amidst a productive learning environment. Assists and supports in the planning, implementation and documentation of educational programs designed to meet the needs of clients. Facilitates daily social skills and activities while documenting outcomes.
Teaches prevention strategies while assisting and managing all crisis situations. Assists the staff with implementation of program chosen mode (i.e., Re-Ed, CBT, ABA, etc.) by blending instruction and behavior management practices in assigned cases. Monitors the behavior progress of assigned caseload. ESSENTIAL & CORE FUNCTIONS 1.
Supervises, supports and/or assists clients in the implementation of designed plans (i.e., IEP, FBA, etc.) to improve social, emotional, physical and self-help skills. Documents progress in accordance with Community Council procedure. Prepares reports as required. 2.
Ensures that each client?s health and safety needs are appropriately met as expeditiously as possible. Communicates all matters related to one?s health according to appropriate protocol. Provides support and assistance as directed. 3.
Facilitates group counseling and therapeutic milieu activities. Plan and implement daily group activities based on client?s individual needs. 4. Complete documentation as required.
Provide crisis intervention when needed. Supervise children assigned to their group and monitor their behavior and safety at all times. 5. Maintain a working and supportive relationship with parents/caretakers of clients, as well as encourage collaboration with the program.
6. Assists, supports, and/or instructs clients in the planning and implementation of daily activities designed to improve educational skills and encourage development of leisure skills. Actively manages and engages clients in recreational, leisure or goal activities as needed. Ensure that materials are available for use by clients as needed.
7. Actively participates in staff meetings. In accordance with Community Council and licensure requires, attends in-service training to achieve, maintain, and enhance professional competence. Interacts professionally with clients, co-workers, families and/or community members.
8. Adheres to policies and procedures of Community Council. Attend and participate in staff meetings and participate in training seminars and classes for self-growth and development in order to become more efficient in work. 9.
Performs all duties independently. May be required to report to alternate sites as assigned. 10. Performs related duties, special assignments, and projects as required by Community Council management
