COMPANY OVERVIEW
Planet B, Inc. is a woman-owned manufacturer and retailer of sustainable home, personal care, and gift items. We believe in making sustainable swaps so easy and affordable that they are the obvious choice. Our primary customer base shops at farmers markets and cares about supporting small, local businesses. We are picky about which retailers we allow to carry our products, partnering exclusively with refill stores, small farms, and hyper-local artisan craft shops. Our goal is to share our sustainability knowledge far and wide and learn as much as possible in the process.
BASIC INFORMATION
- Average 5 – 20 hours/week with a few weeks maxing out at 35 hours during the holiday season
- Location will vary depending on which market(s) / events are going on
- Predominantly weekend work with a few Fridays during the holiday season
- $15.25/hour with commission of 2% of any revenue above market goal
- $25 food stipend provided for any events over 5 hours long (event beginning to end – not including setup/breakdown time)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Planet B, Inc. depends on farmers markets, street fairs, and craft shows to educate potential customers about our products and low waste living. The Market Manager is responsible for representing our products and values to the community in an inclusive manner, as well as all necessary activities to make sure that Planet B is successful at each market / event. This includes transportation of market setup, setting up all necessary fixtures and products, selling products, breakdown / cleanup of booth, and returning products into inventory closet. In addition, the market community is extremely supportive of one another, so the Market Manager must be willing and able to maintain collaborative relationships with fellow vendors and event organizers alike.
JOB DUTIES
- Transportation of market items to market / event location
- Setup of booth & product displays
- Answering customer questions
- Represent Planet B brand values at markets / events
- Social media updates during event
- Breakdown / cleanup of booth
- Transportation of items back to Planet B headquarters
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid drivers license and vehicle large enough to transport all necessary items
- Must be willing / able to travel up to 1 hour radius from Planet B headquarters
- Weekend availability a MUST – especially in November and December (will also include sa few Fridays)
- Able to complete tasks with limited instruction / oversight
- Social media expertise a plus
