SeaCa Plastic Packaging's Finishing Department is looking to add an experienced and dedicated Folder Gluer Operator to our team at our Surprise, AZ location. The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who excels working in a demanding and fast paced environment and demonstrates excellent prioritization, decision making and time management skills.
This is an operator level position for manufacturing plastic corrugated boxes. This position is responsible for converting die cut plastic sheets into folded and glued boxes utilizing a folder/gluer machine. Operate a machine to fold and glue plastic polypropylene sheets into containers. Responsible for monitoring employees pre-feeding sheets into folder gluer and stacking of finished product. Responsible for the plant safety and to exercise good judgement in all operations.
You will be joining a crew of 3-9 people working as a team to accomplish the operating goals of the shift. Bonus pay can be earned as a member of the team that achieves their manufacturing goal.
- Read and evaluate job ticket, print card, and CAD drawings, follows production schedules, prioritizes, and organizes
- Sets-up and operate machine, pre-feeder or stacker.
- Operates the machine, performing setups, monitoring, cleaning, and adjustments
- Monitors machine for bad sheets, wrong loads on rollers, etc.
- Fills out “Quality Checklist” compares test samples to information located on checklist
- Sweeps floor, keeps work area clean and organized
- Helps to initiate, recommend and provide solutions with supervisors and co-workers, and help verify the implementation of solutions
- Sets up the stacker to ensure neat stacks using correct dunnage and pattern specified on job ticket
- Determines appropriate machine speed to meet production goals while maintaining consistent quality
- Double checks to make sure load quantities and load tags are correct for the order
- Recognize nonconforming products and advises operator
- Preps for upcoming orders by staging dunnage, print load tags. Inspects to insure all is correct and/or in good working order
- Completes order in computer, fills out last load sheet. Fills out quantity, date, and prints last load tag at correct quantity
- Performs similar job duties as required
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Writing, mathematical skills, and a basic mechanical understanding
- Experience with Folder Gluers
- Two or more years’ experience with machine operation, preference in folding and gluing
- Possesses the knowledge to work safely with available tools and chemicals
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle fast pace and high stress environment
- Ability to withstand dusty and noisy conditions
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and push/pull at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel or stoop for extended periods of time
