Med/Surg Unit, Emergency Department - 36 hours Night and Day Shift positions and PRN as needed
(Competitive shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts) - $10,000 sign-on bonus for day shift; $12,000 sign-on bonus for night shift
Surgical Services - 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri) No weekends or holidays.
Assesses, plans, implements, & evaluates the nursing care of patients in the Med/Surg Unit, Emergency Department, or Surgical Services . Responsible for ensuring continuity of care by providing direct care as well as supervising the care given by CNAs, and Unit Secretaries. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Maintains role as a patient advocate with a focus on the hospital's mission. Demonstrates ethical and appropriate behavior. Demonstrates adherence to all policies and procedures. Follows the Nurse Practice Act.
Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing with a current NC RN license as well as BLS and ACLS certification.
A minimum of at least 2 years of experience.

Participates in the admission process by evaluating and completing the initial interview, initial physical assessment, discharge planner, and problem list

Functions as a patient advocate by protecting the patient's rights
Assesses patients on admission, each shift change, as well as when condition changes.
Meets current documentation standards and policies
Notes and carries out physician's orders in a timely manner
Notifies charge nurse or physician of changes in patient's condition, abnormal labs, radiology exams, respiratory status, telemetry changes, etc. and follows through until appropriate action is taken
Gives a thorough report to oncoming shift
Demonstrates competence in technical and manual skills according to scope of practice for registered nurses; to manage care of the medical/surgical and higher level care patients.
Supervises PCTs and other members of the Health Care Team to accomplish the Plan of Care that has been developed
Administers medications using the five rights and per patient identification policy; performs treatments safely.
Interacts with patients, families, co-workers, manager, and other departmental personnel in a kind, knowledgeable, and friendly manner.
Demonstrates ability to remain calm in emergency and/or stressful situations and gives everyone a feeling of confidence that the situation is under control.
Performs duties with Age Specific Standards in mind.
Consistently follows the policies and procedures of the hospital and Patient Care Unit.
