Role:
We are seeking an Application Engineer to provide technical support and guidance to our customers, our sales team and our service technicians. The Application Engineer will be trained to become expert in steam sterilization equipment/technology and its application in research and healthcare settings. This role is a key link between our engineering and manufacturing teams and our customers, proving technical guidance pre-sale and post-sale, to ensure successful outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Pre-Sale / Point of Sale Technical Customer Support
- Provide primary technical & application support to inside and outside sales reps, as well as customers, throughout all stages of the sales cycle. Create facility layouts, equipment cutsheets, and CAD blocks as need to support customers.
- Review and approve requests for product customizations / custom applications. Create pricing, schedule and functional requirements for custom work and coordinate between customer, sale team and CSS engineering (implementation will be not be the responsibility of the Sr. Application Eng.).
Order Review
- Review all incoming Sales Orders for accuracy, completeness of information and feasibility of construction; correct and modify Sales Orders as needed.
- Review all BOMs created by engineering department and ensure the align with the Sales Order requirements.
Training
- Provide detailed product technical training and instruction for field service and sales representatives at regular interval. Developed training presentations and other materials to support and compliment live classroom instruction.
- Provide hands on-training as need h in-house manufacturing personnel and other CSS employees.
Service Support
- Act as the primary engineering contact and resource for all Service related issues and inquiries.
Sales and Marketing Support
- Provide technical content and support for various type of sales, marketing, and service materials including sell sheet, tech data sheets, sales presentations, service documentation, blog entries, webinars, architect specs. and videos etc.
- Create and maintain technical documentation as needed for effective pre- and post-sales support.
- Communicate and coordinate relevant engineering changes to Sales, Service and Marketing departments.
- As time allows, participate in trade shows, customer site meetings, and architect lunch & learns with a focus on CSS technical capabilities & customized solutions.
Key Requirements:
1. BS Mechanical Engineering and 3 years work experience, preferably with a capital equipment manufacturer
2. Able to multi-task while remaining organized and have great communication skills
3. Self starter & team player willing to help out with any tasks
4. Experience using 3D CAD (Solidworks a plus)
5. Familiar with drafting, drawing, & doc control standards (GD&T a plus)
6. Experience with 2D CAD (AutoCad) a plus
7. Experience with FDA regulations a plus
8. Experience with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code a plus
9. Able to commute to and work in office (Billerica, MA)
10. Application Engineering experience preferred but not required
