Job Function
Reporting into the Multi-Site Plant Manager, the Inventory Specialistwill be based out of Houston, TXand will be responsible for cycle counting, maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the smooth flow of materials.
Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure data accuracy.

Implement and maintain a systematic inventory tracking system to optimize efficiency.

Collaborate with production and purchasing teams to ensure timely availability of materials for production.

Generate and process invoices and purchase orders.
-
Coordinate with suppliers to track deliveries and resolve any issues related to order fulfillment.

Maintain organized and up-to-date records of inventory transactions, including receipts, issuances, and returns.

Generate reports on inventory levels, stock usage, and other relevant metrics as needed.

Conduct regular quality checks on incoming materials and finished goods to ensure compliance with established standards.

Communicate any quality issues to the appropriate teams and take necessary corrective actions.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, purchasing, and logistics, to optimize inventory processes.

Provide input on inventory control policies and procedures to enhance overall efficiency.

Serve as backup to the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator.

Required Experience
-
High school diploma/equivalency with 3 years experience in a related field.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Proficient in using inventory management software and MS Office Suite.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Understanding of inventory control principles and best practices.
Preferred Experience

Familiarity with production processes and supply chain management.
