Job Overview:
The Jr Accountant is at an entry level position that must have accounting, organizational and interpersonal skills necessary to be an asset to the finance team.
This position will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and other related tasks. This position would match an individual who has recently completed or almost completed a BS degree in Accounting/Finance and is looking to start their career.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounts Receivables by posting daily invoices and reviewing bank accounts for receipt of payments
- Fields accounts receivable inquiries from internal staff and external vendors
- Manage Accounts Payable by reviewing all POs for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment received
- Post and code all invoices and POs into the accounting software system ensuring careful accuracy and precision
- Generate weekly financial reports (AR, AP, Balance Sheets) for management approval
- Oversee and track all team members QB time tracker reports, confirming on-time submissions
- Monitor expenses through company credits ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Research all vendor discrepancies and follows up on all adjustments
- Monitor daily bank activity
- Submit all approved invoices to Book2Bank (ACH) for payment to vendors; process wires when necessary
- Post all activity and reconcile bank statements and investment accounts
- File and maintain all paid and unpaid invoices and statements
- Assist Finance Director with processing of bi-weekly payroll and employee benefits
- Provide analytical, administrative, clerical and project support to accounting department and management
Qualifications:
- Recently completed or working towards completion of a BS Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
- Combined work experience in external audit or corporate accounting is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of GAAP is a plus
- Proficient in MS Excel, including XLOOKUPS and pivot tables is a plus
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Experience with Month-End Close process is a plus
- Superb time management and detail orientation
This position is Monday thru Friday 9am to 5pm. Must be willing to be in the office at least 5 days a week for the first 90 days and then will asses for hybrid work.
