Security Service Technician Tech II
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Service Technician II is a professional position that installs, modifies, repairs, and maintains: temperature control systems, access control systems, CCTV systems, fire alarm systems, nurse call systems, overhead paging, burglar alarm systems, etc. While experience is not required in all systems we install, willingness to learn and adapt is.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Configuration: Install and configure intrusion, fire, CCTV, and access
control security systems.
- Cabling and Installation: Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings through
drilling, trenching, or aerial methods. Complete wiring, connections, and equipment
installations ensuring compliance with customer and contractual requirements.
- Coordination and Support: Collaborate with Installation Team Lead or Project Manager to schedule on-site work activities and ensure timely equipment delivery.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct tests to verify operational status of newly installed systems. Troubleshoot installations to ensure compliance with local, county,state, or federal codes, as well as legal and insurance requirements.
- Customer Relations: Maintain professional appearance and demeanor. Foster positive customer relations to support contract retention and enhance company reputation.
- Safety and Compliance: Perform all work assignments adhering to safety guidelines and within specified timelines. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety requirements and handling proprietary information.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on product changes and technological advancements. Attend and complete training programs to enhance skills and knowledge base.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Identify Sales Opportunities: Recognize potential sales opportunities during customer interactions, while earning commission.
- Promote Company Services: Educate customers on additional security solutions and services offered by the company.
- Support Sales Efforts: Collaborate with sales team members to provide technical expertise and support in sales presentations and proposals.
- Contribute to Business Growth: Contribute to business growth by promoting company capabilities and maintaining high customer satisfaction levels.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A comprehensive knowledge of integrated security systems is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or relevant coursework
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This position requires periodic drug testing, a valid driver’s license, Background Check and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent prolonged periods of standing, bending, pulling, twisting, reaching, climbing and standing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this position; the employee may be exposed to weather conditions from 100 degrees to below 0 degrees and exposed to various climates and conditions. Wearing of safety clothing and equipment may at times be required.
