Universal Institute is seeking all passionate Health Care Professionals searching for a new career opportunity in a residential setting with an expanding business! Universal Institute is looking for creative, friendly, and team oriented professional to work within our luxury residential homes located in our family oriented communities. There are only 1-3 clients per home, making the caseload very manageable. Professionals with knowledge in brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other neurological conditions are encouraged to apply.
Direct Care Professionals are responsible for the supervision and quality care of our clients within the residential setting. Our Direct Care Professionals provide optimal care and contact with the client as part of a rehabilitation team working to achieve individualistic client goals while maintaining their overall wellness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists maximum of three (3) clients with activities of daily living (ADLS), medication management, personal hygiene, health , safety, general housekeeping skills and food preparation.
- Provides direction, guidance, and supervision to clients.
- Assists in implementation of the Individual Service Plan (ISP).
- Serves as an active member of the Interdisciplinary Team by participating in team meetings and supporting clients’ treatment plans.
- Participates/attends monthly staff meetings.
- Cooperates effectively with staff, clients, families, and other members of the delivery systems.
- Maintains client confidentiality at all times.
- Assists with medication after successful completion of training on medication management provided by Universal.
- Ensures client safety by following all rules and regulations in accordance with Universal’s policy and procedures manual.
- Maintains cleanliness of group home.
- Works with rehabilitation patients with various disabilities including but not limited to Brain Injury, CVA, General Rehab, Acute/Chronic Neuro.

- Ability to work flexible hours based on the needs of the group home.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old or older
- At least 1+ year(s) experience in direct care/working with traumatic brain injury preferred
- Ability to assist with lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling our clients in wheelchair (100-300 lbs.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have a valid PA driver’s license with an excellent driving record, and be able to drive Universal Institute’s handicapped accessible vans
- Required to maintain cleanliness and general organization of all equipment, supplies, and working areas
