BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists Escrow Officer with the administration of the closing. Called upon to explain a closing process to parties involved, collects the necessary signatures and assures that all the signed documents reach the appropriate parties. Works closely with Escrow Officers and Title Officers to coordinate all necessary documents needed for closing.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Confers with realtors, lending institution personnel, buyers, sellers, contractors, surveyors, and courthouse personnel to exchange title-related information or to resolve problems.
Meets with individuals involved in legal processes to provide information and clarify issues.
Verifies accuracy and completeness of land-related documents accepted for registration.
When contract is received, verifies all items pre and post-closing including clear to close, payoffs, taxes, HOAs, insurance premiums, loan amounts, sales price, earnest funds, insurance remittance and commissions in order to prepare/review settlement statement and closing disclosure.
Ensures closing disclosure fee accuracy and loan docs are being received, reviewed, and sent to client in an orderly and timely manner both pre and post close consistent with client expectations.
Maintains and understanding of title insurance requirements and guidelines in Texas and stay current on changing rules and requirements imposed by Texas Department of Insurance.
Attends team meetings to stay abreast of new processes, improvements, and training as needed.
Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU’s established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).
Other duties as may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union and/or Prosperus Title and Escrow, LLC.

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma required. Associates degree preferred.
A minimum of 1 year title and closing services experience.
Licensed Escrow Officer obtained within 6 months of hire or promotion.
Motivated, energetic, and positive team player.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
Knowledge of client-based systems.
Attention to detail.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to problem solve and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Requires sitting the majority of the day, lifting up to 20 pounds, bending and reaching above and below shoulder level occasionally.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
Providing quality service is the primary responsibility of this position. Quality service means treating members and coworkers with respect and courtesy at all levels whether in person or by telephone as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Required availability: Monday- Friday: 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
