Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for managing incoming shipments and verifying the accuracy of received orders.
Summary
The Essential Labs Warehouse Receiving Clerk is responsible for efficiently and accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments of materials and products. This role ensures that all received goods meet the company's quality standards and are correctly documented and stored. The Warehouse Receiving Clerk works closely with other warehouse staff to maintain a smooth flow of materials and supports the overall operational efficiency of Essential Labs.
Essential functions

· Receiving inbound goods and supplies to meet the needs of the production schedule and functions of various departments.
· Ensuring order accuracy against bills of lading, packing slips, and purchase orders.
· Submitting loss and damage claims, documenting and managing files of damages and loss, and notifying management of claim activity.
· Utilizing the company ERP system and printing equipment to track and label inbound shipments and create accurate receiving records.
· Moving goods and supplies to appropriate locations for stocking and back stock, keeping pathways clear.
· Organizing warehouse areas to keep the flow of inventory moving efficiently according to FIFO procedures.
· Processing and issuing raw material needs to production to fulfill manufacturing requirements.
· Collaborating and communicating with various departments including logistics, planning, compounding, and supply chain teams to meet customer demands.
· Adhering to Quality Standards for customer service as outlined by management.
· Organizing waste removal, recycling, and garbage pickups, ensuring goods are disposed of according to company safety guidelines.
· Participating in team and all-staff meetings.
· With proper cross-functional training, the position may include order picking fulfillment, arrangement, and scheduling of freight and small package orders, and conducting inventory audits via cycle counts.
· Receiving product deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy.
· Delivering invoices to appropriate personnel.
· Ensuring only authorized personnel enter the receiving area.
· Positioning garbage and recycling dumpsters for pick up on appropriate days.
· Reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
· Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Competencies:
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Attention to detail in counting and verification of orders.
· Ability to understand the shipping terms and verbiage on packing slips, bills of lading, and container labels, including but not limited to weights and measures and conversions therein, lot numbers, vendor codes, tracking numbers, etc.
· Punctual and dependable with a sense of urgency.
· Strong sense of time organization and management.
· Operates with a sense of commitment to teamwork and can work independently.
· Positive, friendly demeanor working with vendors, truck drivers, business associates, and internal staff.
· Adaptive and flexible to a growing and changing environment.
· Knows and adheres to Quality Standards for customer service as outlined by the supervisor.
· Communicates needs and problems promptly and efficiently.
· Wears protective clothing as required for the position.
· Maintains a safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations.
Physical Requirements:
· Required frequently: standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in cold temperatures.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in logistics, supply chain, or related fields is a plus.
· Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role preferred.
· Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
Working Conditions:
· This position requires working in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
· The role may involve standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
