Job Summary:
The Vice President of Engineering at TotalTek supports and builds the strategy for Engineering Services for all client engagements. They direct all daily activities for engineering employees full-time, contract and vendors / partner resources. Help design and build new lines of services and products. Help build strategic relationships within the government and support the director of government services with delivery. This position is an integral part of the team leadership component to the engineering division and will contribute to the company’s growth, profit and business objective. Will oversee the hiring, training, budgeting, and strategic planning of the engineering team to meet department and individual goals.
Essential Leadership & Job Responsibilities:
- Growing and maintaining the Engineering Division at $100 million in Revenue

Managing 75+ Engineers in daily activities
- Responsible for collaborating with TotalTek President and leadership team on engineering roadmap
- Lead the planning, execution and delivery of all department programs and projects
- Ensure projects are completed with high standards, within budget and on time
- Create a motivating environment driven on high integrity, morals and ethics
- Manage the department of professional engineers and non-professional engineering support staff, meeting company goals for quality and billability

Implement appropriate project management and communication solutions to monitor progress across project, engineers and contractors
- Develop fee proposals for new work and track progress of teams on projects

Develop and monitor project specific execution plans to reconcile scope, budget, and schedule constraints to ensure project success

Prepare client project presentations, studies, and reports

Coach, mentor and lead engineers, designers, and drafters to develop a high performing organization
- Allocate resources effectively and monitor staffing plans and work forecasting

Provide leadership in developing advanced concepts, techniques, and standards and setting the technical direction for the department’s design processes and procedures

Education and Experience:

10+ years’ Shipbuilding Engineering or Design Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field Experience managing US Navy/US Coast Guard engineering projects

Experience setting up or managing an Engineering services team

5+ years of experience delivering to government contracts
