HY-TECH is hiring a Manual Machinist to join a successful team.
Machinists produce and repair parts using both manual and automated equipment. They are responsible for the proper and safe operation of equipment being aware that tools are sharp, the coolant flow is adequate, and dimension are being held. They receive work orders accompanied by blueprints and instructions for the machine and attachments to be used and the processes to be performed.
Essential Functions:
· Set-up and operate a variety of machines including but not limited to lathes, mills, sandblaster, hobbs, shapers, hones, deburring and precision grinders to perform multiple machining operations and ensure the proper tolerance.
· Select proper tools and tool setting as required. Install tooling in the machines and index and/or replace inserts.
· Install holding fixtures, attachments and accessories and use set-up sheets.
· Make adjustments based on experience to fine-tune the process in order to achieve product conformance.
· Read and use precise measuring equipment (i.e. dial calipers, micrometers, Indicator Gauges, etc.)
· Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut. Enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.
· Work with engineering and management to develop faster ways of machining parts using new concepts or ideas. Able to work from Prints, sketches and verbal instructions.
· Ability to read and understand Blueprints.
Skills:
· Applies knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.
· Ability to read, understand and follow a safety guidelines.
· Accurately inspects and processes all completed work to detect any defects and take appropriate corrective actions.
· Maintain work area and equipment in an organized manner.
· Must be able to work in a changing manufacturing environment.
· Must consistently display a positive attitude and work well in a team environment.
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time during the day.
· Work with a minimum of supervision and support.
· Team player and understanding of job shop mentality.
Job Overview:

- Ability to fabricate parts from raw materials
- Strong mathematical skills for basic calculations related to machining processes
