Overview:
As the Assistant Preschool Director, job duties include but are not limited to: supporting and coaching the staff, offering premium customer service for the parents/families, ensuring the highest quality of care to the children in our center, enrolling new children, offering support to the director wherever needed, and being a positive leader with a heart-centered approach. Responsibilities:
- Help with assignments for the weekly schedule.
- Daily Safety check sheet (to be filled by all teachers & at closing).
- Modify opening/closing sheet, if needed.
- Notify Sue of needed supplies
- Maintain State checklist & make sure it is checked Monthly.
- Assist with maintaining licensing regulations and procedures.
- Review each child’s file & make a list of anything missing.
- School activity planning (Graduation, Socials etc).
- Make a list of what goes on in the entire year. (What / When / Who)
- Maintain and support quality safety, supervision and program components of the center.
- Meet Standards (e.g. Fire drill, Emergency procedures etc).
- Assist Director with classroom enrollments, child files, and communications with families.
- Maintain files for every child. Make sure every child has necessary paperwork (reminders for updated paperwork (physical) etc).

- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Provide a nurturing and supportive environment for children to learn and grow
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom setting
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in children
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning experience
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments
- Provide individualized attention to students who may require additional support
- Follow all licensing regulations and guidelines
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a daycare or educational setting
- Understanding of child welfare and early intervention strategies
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that promote active learning
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with young students
- Knowledge of childhood development milestones and appropriate teaching methods
- Experience in tutoring or providing one-on-one support to students is a plus
- Ability to provide toddler care as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Background check clearance
