We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our Radiology team. The X-Ray Technician is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of the department's technical equipment, administering radiation exposure tests and checking appropriate radiation levels on all equipment to ensure patient safety. A successful candidate should have an interest in both engineering and healthcare.
Responsibilities:
· Preparing Patients: X-ray technicians prepare patients for their imaging procedures, explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
· Positioning Patients: They position patients appropriately on the X-ray table or in other positions required for the specific imaging procedure to obtain clear and accurate images.
· Operating Equipment: X-ray technicians operate X-ray machines and other imaging equipment to produce images of the body's internal structures. This may include adjusting settings on the equipment for optimal image quality.
· Shielding: They use lead shields and other protective devices to minimize radiation exposure to areas of the body not being imaged, as well as to themselves and other healthcare personnel in the vicinity.
· Capturing Images: X-ray technicians capture images of the body's internal structures by directing X-ray beams through the body onto specialized film or digital detectors.
· Ensuring Image Quality: They review images to ensure they meet quality standards, checking for clarity, proper positioning, and adequate exposure.
· Assisting Radiologists: X-ray technicians assist radiologists, physicians specialized in interpreting diagnostic images, by providing them with high-quality images for diagnosis. They may also assist during procedures such as fluoroscopy or computed tomography (CT) scans.
· Maintaining Records: They maintain detailed records of imaging procedures, including patient information, images, and any relevant notes or observations.
· Following Safety Protocols: X-ray technicians adhere to strict safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure risks to patients, themselves, and others. This includes following guidelines for radiation safety, equipment operation, and infection control.
· Continuing Education: They participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on advances in imaging technology, safety protocols, and best practices in radiography.
· Ensuring Equipment Maintenance: X-ray technicians are responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of imaging equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and calibrated for accurate results.
. Informing Patients & Coordination with Providers: The X-ray technician is responsible for informing patients about their reports and also coordinating with the medical provider, ensuring reports are signed and scanned in patients' charts.

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
