Position Summary
The Afterschool Activity Worker carries out the daily curriculum and activities.
Position Title: Afterschool Activity Worker
Reports to: Afterschool Program Manager and Staff Parish Relations Committee
Type of Position: Part-time (15 hours per week; 39 weeks per year)
Major Responsibilities:
Engages youth in the planned curriculum and recreational activities.
Assists with taking attendance as youth arrive and ensuring youth leave with appropriate parent/guardian.
Ensures the facility is safe.
Assists the program manager to prepare the facility prior to each session and after the daily program.
Communicates effectively with youth, parents, and staff.
Reports immediately to the program manager any issues regarding youth and/or parent.
Completes training as required.
Attends program or staff meetings as required.
Minimum Requirements:
15 years old
Strong oral interpersonal skills appropriate for interfacing with children and adults
Embraces teamwork
Church background
Maintains confidentiality
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, climb, lift objects up to 30 pounds, and be physically active with youth.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
