Focus, one of the most respected and prestigious personal training companies and institutes in New York City, is seeking a 30-hour-a-week Financial Aid and Administrative Coordinator. Prior experience is preferred, but not required, as we will teach any component of the job that a candidate is unfamiliar with. Recent College graduates are encouraged to apply.
The Financial Aid and Administrative Coordinator supports the Admissions Team and all aspects of Financial Aid, is extremely detail-oriented, loves helping people, and enjoys making positive changes in their lives. The coordinator will provide information and guidance to students through various forms of communication (email, phone, text, in-person, and virtually).
Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience in Higher Education Financial Aid a plus, but not required.

Outgoing and sociable demeanor. Someone who "loves" people

Excellent verbal and intra-personal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Exceptional organizational skills.

Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suites.
Responsibilities Include:
We will teach any component of the job that a candidate is unfamiliar with, including:

Assist with the overall Federal Student Aid program, including, but not limited to:
-
Guide students through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
-
Review Institutional Student Information Records (ISIR) for accuracy and collect additional information/make corrections as needed.
-
Oversee payment plans and past due collections efforts.
-
Provide financial aid counseling, including review of Federal Student Aid Offers and Entrance/Exit Counseling.
-
Oversee the organization of student Financial Aid files.
-
Maintaining close communication with FPTI’s Title IV third-party servicer.
-
Serve as a point of contact for the Veterans’ Education programs, including:
-
Verifying students' eligibility for benefits.
-
Ensuring completion of required VA forms.
-
Maintaining the organization of student Veterans' Education files.
-
Counsel students on additional payment options, including:
-
Institutional payment plans.
-
State Tuition Programs.
-
529 College Savings Plans.
-
Private student loans and scholarships.
-
Ensure accurate and timely posting of student payments and disbursements.
-
Additional duties may be assigned based on the performance or needs of the school.
