Overview
ESI is seeking a talented Project Development Engineer to join our team in Kennesaw, Georgia. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and a minimum of five years of experience in the design and/or construction of steam and power generation plants. Successful candidates will have experience in both the proposal and bidding phase, conceptual engineering and pre-construction services. Direct experience with construction execution would be a benefit.
Project Development Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate preliminary engineering and early design development for steam and power generation projects
- Develop preliminary heat and mass balances for gas and solid fuel-fired boilers, steam turbine generators, combustion turbine generators, reciprocating engines and material handling systems
- Perform initial equipment sizing and selection including specification development, RFP development and bid evaluation
- Utilize existing CRM Software (SalesForce) and existing Contacts/Accounts to foster business opportunities that meet ESI’s existing and future business goals
- Jointly develop preliminary general arrangement drawings, process flow diagrams and process and instrumentation diagrams to support proposals and engineering studies
- Develop detailed material take-offs for concrete, structural steel and piping systems utilizing general arrangement drawings and process and instrumentation diagrams
- Develop preliminary project schedules for EPC project proposals and engineering studies
- Communicate with clients and vendors on a regular basis
- Prepare detailed estimates for steam and power generation projects and studies
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Construction, etc.)
- At least five years of experience in the design and/or construction of steam and power generation plants
- Experience writing equipment specifications for the following: pumps, fans, material handling systems, boilers and pressure parts, heat exchangers, air pollution control equipment, steam turbine generators, combustion turbines and reciprocating engines
- Experience preparing and interpreting process flow diagrams, general arrangement drawings and P&IDs
- Experience creating estimates and proposals
- Experience with MS Office Suite
- Specific experience working for an EPC firm involved in steam and power projects is a PLUS
- Experience with Thermoflow, Primavera P6 and/or InEight Estimate software is a PLUS
- EIT and PE is a PLUS
