Pay Range - $26-$36 per hour commensurate based on experience
Job Description
- ReConserve of Minnesota, Inc. is in immediate need for an excellent skilled person to fill our Truck / Trailer Mechanic position. This position will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and general repairs on tractors and trailer units to both company and DOT standards in addition will do maintenance to all rolling equipment such as front end loaders, forklifts and skid steers. Also, responsible for inventory controls of truck and trailer parts and processing all work order paperwork while maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area.
Job Requirements / Duties
As a Truck / Trailer Mechanic you will be experienced and aware of the latest technologies and be a persistent problem solver. Below are some factors that may enable your success as a Truck / Trailer Mechanic:
- Diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including preventative maintenance, inspections, repair to air and hydraulic brakes, tires, warranty procedures, suspensions and electrical, with all safety as the top priority.
- Identify, diagnose and resolve tractor and trailer related issues, i.e. speedometer, power steering, U-joint, rear end, etc.
- Diagnose and repair trailer components such as doors, floors and side panels.
- Perform PM’s on tractor and trailer equipment including routine technical repairs and completing work orders.
- Perform general or routine welding with or without prints.
- Use effective interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships with other team members and external vendors.
- Contribute to the goals of the shop, leadership team and company as a whole.
- Document all work orders in detail.
- Abide by all company policies and safety rules and assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- Be a positive role model for all team members providing support and enthusiasm and a positive work environment.
- Valid CDL and DOT physical card a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
- This position requires a technical school certification and/or 1 year of relevant experience in medium to heavy duty truck repairs.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to make logical decisions in support of business demands.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively over the phone and face to face.
- Use effective time management techniques and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and multi task.
- Must be able to effectively and accurately complete detailed work with a sense of urgency; always keeping safety at the forefront.
- Must be self-motivated and able and willing to work independently while motivating team efforts.
- Demonstrate, diagnose and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
- Ability to clearly communicate in English, both verbally and written; ability to read and understand English.
