Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Production Manager to join our team. In a unique position/industry, play a crucial role in ensuring that production runs efficiently and meets quality standards. With strong leadership and management skills, manage the day-to-day operations of the Autographs and Memorabilia Departments. This includes the development of procedures, communications, and scheduling to facilitate a good flow of information between the autographs and memorabilia departments and other departments within the company. Quality control and safety protocols are essential.
The incumbent in this position will work a regular weekly schedule in a physical office and warehouse environment. Extra hours may be required. The Autographs and Memorabilia departments may work an overtime schedule several times per year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Responsible for the day-to-day production operations for the autographs and memorabilia departments.
- Monitor inter-company production schedules to coordinate internal workflow.
- Keep and maintain the internal schedule and ensure supervisors and Assistant Managers follow the production sequence.
- Review workload from all incoming programs to schedule and to manage head count.
- Monitor all incoming emails referring to final forecast, ship date changes, reservations and Rolling Calendar to maintain schedule and to ensure a good flow of production.
- Assess current processes throughout the production floor.
- Monitor production performance and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
- Evaluate quality assurance throughout the various procedures.
- Create and control new data in our systems such as vendors, COAs, memorabilia types and brands.
- Make certain that all the equipment is in good working condition; coordinate maintenance on production equipment.
- Oversee maintenance and facility staff.
- Ensure all employees follow company safety policies.
- Assist with purchasing and vendors to ensure all supplies get ordered and delivered on time.
- Write SOP (Standard Operation Procedures) when and where required.
- Work alongside with Managers to ensure the production floor complies with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the End of Year Annual Inventory for the Autographs and Memorabilia departments.
- Manage Auto/Mem Asst. Managers, Supervisors and Leads, as well as a clerical position.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of memorabilia and collectibles helpful.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and problem solve in multiple areas internally as well as with outside vendors.
- Able to manipulate and interpret data to extract reports in Microsoft excel spread sheets.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
- Critical thinking skills to evaluate tasks and the time to execute them. The ability to evaluate processes and streamline them for better efficiency in production environment.
- Leadership skills to manage a large group of people including temporary staff. (50+)
- Robust interpersonal skills for dealing with employees, supervisors, assistant Manager and other managers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to be used within the company and external vendors.
- Stickler of company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Comprehension and ability to budget for departmental needs.
- Able to work extended hours when required.
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
Equipment/Software, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field desired.
- 4 + years of work-related experience in departmental and schedule management.
- PC proficiency in: Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, web-based databases and inventory management.
- Experience and ability to manage large groups of people as well as process implementation and purchasing.
