Position-Desktop Engineer
Location-Jersey City, NJ (onsite) – Need only locals/from tristates – NY/NJ/PA
Job Description:
The Engineering team is responsible for managing all desktop related technology and security used by our employees. The team is responsible for the engineering and operations of all desktop, mobile and cloud platforms. This includes specifying hardware strategy, managing desktop, mobile and software packaging. Additionally, we manage group policy and security.
Responsibility:
- Function as a engineering support for all workplace technology – desktops, peripherals, VDI and mobile platforms
- Support and engineer workplace technology used by the firm.
- Work with workplace technology domain, including latest offerings from major vendors.
- Collaborates with the infrastructure team to ensure workplace technology is operating at peak performance and within best practices and standards.
- Ensure workplace technology meets our security policies.
- Manage intake and packaging of all third-party desktop applications.
- Manage platform updates, including OS, firmware, and security patches.
- Manage endpoint inventory and security
- Solicit feedback and improve workplace productivity and experience.
- Create test plans to ensure all workplace technology platforms meet technical, user interface and security requirements.
- Define, periodically review, and optimize operational metrics.
- Serve as a mentor and escalation point for the help desk team
- Create supporting documentation for various audiences.
Requirements:
- A minimum of five years of experience in desktop engineering
- Strong application packaging experience for Windows applications.
- Strong knowledge of Apple IOS and HW in an Enterprise use case and leveraging JAMF for Apple device management.
- Strong experience in design, architecture and management using SCCM or MECM and Intune in Windows 10/11 Deployment: In-place upgrade, OS refresh and replace.
- Experience as solution lead managing projects, solution roadmap, POC and leading initiatives with minimal direction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Extensive experience with how to secure workplace technology and best practices.
- Understanding of Azure cloud platform especially with Microsoft 365, Cloud management software products like Terraform or Nerdio, Azure Image Library, Azure Active Directory concepts, Network protocols/services and Network Infrastructure.
- Experience with with strong understanding of the mechanics and processes for developing end to end provisioning processes through MS Intune including images, software deployment, and patching.
- Exposure in co-management (Intune + MECM) as part of modern device management transformation.
- Experience in PowerShell, VBScript, WMI scripting and automation.
- Exposure to Microsoft Graph, Azure Alerts and Monitoring, Endpoint Analytics
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $80,000.70 - $90,000.00 per year
