As a Peritoneal Dialysis RN (PD RN) you educate your patients on how to do their own dialysis from their homes, and you take responsibility for the complete ongoing care of each patient to ensure their treatment stays on track.
We are looking for a Peritoneal dialysis Nurse to join the team at Ontario Holt Dialysis.

I. General Description:
Has a responsibility for preparation, training, and following up nursing care of CAPD patients. Is involved in evaluating patients interested in CAPD and in the selection of patients for these programs. Also, had the responsibility for the management of patient's special needs.
II. Qualifications:.
a. Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the state of California.
b. Preferred experience with Peritoneal Dialysis and the care of the peritoneal catheters.
III. Job Knowledge:
a. Has basic knowledge of all procedures related to peritoneal dialysis.
b. Exhibits leadership, creativity, initiative, and good communication skills.
c. Has knowledge of PD complications and treatment of these complications.
d. Has basic knowledge of teaching techniques in order to train patients and orient new staff.
e. Has basic knowledge of ESRD regulations regarding PD and End Stage Renal Disease.
f. Shall gather date relevant to calculations of KT/V, Creatinine Clearance, lean body mass and PCR every six months.
IV. Basic Functions:
a. To orient potential patients to CAPD as ordered by physicians.
b. Participate in evaluations of home environment and indicate adjustments needed.
c. To be actively involved in evaluation of CAPD candidates.
d. To coordinate and monitor ordering necessary supplies for patient with appropriate companies.
e. To coordinate hospital care of patient with nurses while in the hospital.
f. .Develop and maintain nursing care plan for CAPD patients.
g. To provide support to the CAPD patients after their training is complete.
h. To give additional training to CAPD patients as needed.
i. To perform tubing changes for CAPD patients.
