Role Description Overview
The Creative Specialist will play a critical role on the Visit Rapid City team as the in-house graphic designer and creative lead. This position is responsible for conceptualizing, creating, and maintaining the integrity of all visual aspects of the Visit Rapid City brand portfolio, including Visit Rapid City, Downtown Rapid City & Main Street Square and the Rapid City Sports Commission, as well as various other programs and initiatives. Ultimately, this individual is a creative powerhouse with the ability to design and produce best-in-class solutions across various platforms with insightful, relevant, innovative and effective strategies.
Key Qualifications
The Creative Specialist embodies a flexible, creative, and entrepreneurial spirit, showcasing a deep-seated passion for the mission, vision, and values of VRC. A natural creator, the Creative Specialist excels in understanding the nuance of great design and that layout, type, and color choices matter. Strong graphic design and production skills are required with extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Lightroom) and Microsoft Office. The Creative Specialist has strong organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and prioritize to meet business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
● Conceptualizing and executing creative solutions for a diverse set of marketing and cross-functional campaigns
● Design for a broad range of digital and traditional media, including print, digital, websites, social media, email, out-of-home, and other design initiatives as needed
● Manage and coordinate all design requests from internal and external sources to produce high-quality assets that align with brand standards
● Be a steward and champion for the Visit Rapid City portfolio of brands, including but not limited to Visit Rapid City, Rapid City Sports Commission, Downtown Rapid City & Main Street Square, Rapid City Area CTA Program, City View Trolley and more
● Contribute to discussions that create unique, differentiated, and compelling creative concepts, staying on top of design trends to contribute to the marketing team’s overall success
● Manage Visit Rapid City’s digital assets and asset management system, managing internal and external requests for imagery, identifying gaps, and working with the marketing team to fill those gaps
● Drive consistency in design treatments across campaigns, achieving alignment with brand standards
● Alongside the marketing team, and at the direction of the Marketing Director, execute the marketing strategy into functional design systems and elements
● Recommend new trends and technologies within the industry to promote Rapid City as a destination

Role Requirements

Pay: $24.04 - $26.44 per hour
