Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Patrols, monitors, and/or periodically inspects assigned areas constantly on the lookout for undesirable or suspicious persons whose presence on the property is not considered to be in the best interest of the hotel/casino management or its guests or those attempting to enter an unauthorized area. At the discretion of the shift manager, trespasses undesirables and troublemakers.
· Investigates all incidents, accidents, and/or events to include: taking initial report and conducting interviews with appropriate follow-up actions.
· Maintains a visible and accessible profile among casino guests and team members to create a sense of security, to deter potential problems, and to answer questions.
· Responds to emergency situations, as requested, and takes appropriate steps to rectify problems and minimize Company liability.
· Executes emergency response and evacuation procedures as directed by manager.
· Monitors and assists in the enforcement of property policies and procedures, regulations, federal, state and local laws.
· Oversees the transportation and exchange of all money transactions between the cage, count room, and casino games including fills, chip runs, markers, credits, slot drop and table game drop.
· Displays high level of guest service to hotel and casino guests and fellow Team Members.
· Protects or safeguards individuals, property, grounds and/or designated areas.
· Patrols, works crowd duty, works parade duty, conducts surveillance, conducts investigations of crimes or potential crimes.
· Protects foreign and domestic dignitaries, celebrities and persons of interest, as assigned.
· Deflates potential threats, evaluates crisis or life-threatening situations, and implements or takes action based upon information or situation analysis.
· Exercises discretion and judgment based on available information related to projects assigned and based on information gathered, studied, processed or reviewed.
· Directs others for their own protection and self-preservation.
· Safety is an essential function of this job.
· Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Company Standards of Conduct
All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
Minimum Qualifications
· 21 years of age.
· Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to obtain/possess a valid Nevada Driver’s License, Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration, Alcohol Awareness Card, and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. A Guard Card is not required for this position.
- Prior experience in civilian or military law enforcement, casino/hotel security, industrial security, or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate incidents, interview witnesses and draft legible, factual reports.
- Knowledge of general first aid preferred.
- Familiarity with federal, state and local laws pertaining to law enforcement and gaming.
- Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
· Possess skills to serve the public trust and establish peace.
- Must be able to address stressful situations with others with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
· Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to:
· Lift or carry 46 lbs., push/pull 100 ft/lbs. unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned at a distance of approximately 1713 ft.
· Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation, including the ability to climb stairs.
· Frequent bending from the waist (5 times per minute), squatting, kneeling, reaching overhead, lying down, crawling, knee standing, pushing and pulling for approximately 33% of the work day.
· Climb in and out of a company vehicle.
· Stand and/or walk for up to 2 hours at one time and for approximately 4 to 6 hours in a work day.
· Sit up to 4 hours at one time and for approximately 4 hours in a work day.
· Drive a truck up to 60 minutes at one time and for approximately 3 hours in a work day.
· Maintain composure under pressure while maintaining a high level of guest service.
· Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
- Must be able to perform eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
· Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
· Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
- Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
