- Ensure assigned systems and documentation are accurate and complete.
- Review all new admissions for accuracy and completeness.
- Make rounds on new admissions and residents.
- Coach/mentor, train and develop charge nurses.
- Answer call lights in a timely manner.
- Be alert to resident's comforts and needs; answer their requests promptly.
- Lift, move and transfer residents as required.
- Safely utilize equipment; report any equipment needing service or repair immediately.
- Participate in emergency fire or disaster drills and other in-service training as scheduled.
- Maintain regular attendance in accordance with facility absence policies.
- Use appropriate workplace behavior and adhere to dress code at all times.
- Complete assigned training on time and/or attend training classes when scheduled.
- Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
- Promote positive public relations with patients, residents, family members and guests.
- Assist in ensuring nursing personnel staffing schedules are prepared and posted to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Ensure attending physicians are given support by nursing personnel.
- Understand and adhere to the guidelines of “Residents Rights” and assure resident safety.
